Marketing is always a work in progress, and so is this site. For the curious marketers out there, here’s a rundown of the tools I used to make this and why I chose them. I’ll add to the list as the site evolves.
My CMS
Ghost Pro with Porto theme
Why Ghost?
My goal was to create a blog to share my ideas and give myself an avenue to write. I wanted something clean and modern, easy to update, that gave me ownership over my content and potential monetization options. Ghost is an open-source platform that’s designed specifically for content creators. Inspirational sites on Ghost include Product Marketing Alliance and Creator Science. I also considered Substack, WordPress and Webflow but none of those fit the criteria.
The disadvantage is that since it’s primarily a blog and newsletter, adding forms and paid products requires investment in additional tools and some HTML customization.
Other web tools
